Meet Our New Principal, Mrs. Megan Elsinger!
The Dubuque Community School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Elsinger as the new principal of Lincoln Elementary School, pending approval by the Board of Education at its May 19 meeting. Elsinger, who serves as a school improvement facilitator for Keystone Area Education Association, will assume her new role on July 1.
As principal of Lincoln, Elsinger will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day operations of the school, which serves approximately 270 students and has approximately 60 professional and support staff.
Elsinger assumes this new role following her current at Keystone Area Education Association. In this role, she has been deeply connected to the school improvement processes in the district, including at Lincoln. She has also advised and supported schools and districts in eastern Iowa through her work on the State School Improvement Team, in addition to designing and facilitating professional learning around instructional best practices. Prior to joining the Keystone team, she was an instructional coach in the West Delaware Community School District, where she also focused on developing strong instructional practices districtwide. She was also previously a high school social studies teacher and at-risk mentoring coordinator at West Delaware High School.
“Megan is a respected educational leader with outstanding experience in instructional best practices,” said Superintendent of Schools Stan Rheingans. “She also has many strong relationships within the Lincoln community, and her energy and positivity make her a great addition to our district leadership team.”
Elsinger holds a bachelor of arts degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a master’s degree in educational leadership and principalship from the University of Northern Iowa.
