Mr. Farnum was hired as the new principal of Lincoln School starting with the 2018-19 school year. Prior to coming to Lincoln , Mr. Farnum was an Instructional Coach at Roosevelt Middle School. From 2012-2017, he was the district’s K-12 science coordinator, a position he shared with Keystone Area Education Agency from 2016-2017. Prior to that, he was a science and social studies teacher and house chair at Washington Middle School. Outside of the district, he served in teaching roles in the Boone Community School District and the Wes Des Moines Community School District. He has also taught college-level courses at both the University of Dubuque and Morningside College.
“Mr. Farnum is an experienced educator who brings a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to this new role,” said Superintendent of Schools Stan Rheingans. “He knows the Lincoln staff and families, and I’m confident he will be a great addition to our district’s leadership team.”
Farnum holds a bachelor of science degree in animal ecology with a chemistry emphasis from Iowa State University, a certificate in secondary science education from Iowa State University, and a master’s degree in educational administration from Loras College.
